Spelthorne aim to omit Green Belt sites from Local Plan
Subject to ministerial intervention, Spelthorne Council proposes axing Green Belt sites intended for housing from their Local Plan. The council, that the housing minister blocked from withdrawing its emerging local plan, has put forward a series of proposed modifications to the strategy, including the removal of 13 out of 15 Green Belt allocations and an eight per cent drop in the annual housing target. The last 2 Green Belt sites remain in the Plan, as they are for Traveller sites, not for residential or industrial building.
