A group of local residents, including people involved in the performing arts, and members of Staines Town Society, are investigating the option of a community buy-out of Staines Town Hall, and its restoration as an arts centre and/or museum.  The cost is uncertain but could be in excess of £1m.  Outside funding would be sought, but the project is only feasible with a solid base of support from local people.  We therefore seek individuals and businesses who would like to invest in a community buy-out of the Town Hall and its restoration as a public facility for the people of Staines.

There are plans to build 14 flats in the space behind and west of Staines Town Hall, and the Town Hall itself is up for sale by the company who own it.  The future of the best-known building in Staines is very uncertain.

Is there any chance of bringing it back into community use?
