MORE LOCAL PLAN DOCUMENTS

Spelthorne BC has consulted on three fairly technical new documents, which are statutory requirements as part of the new Local Plan preparations.  One is a ‘methodology’ for assessing the value of sites in the Green Belt, with the disturbing implication that the Green Belt may not be permanent.  The second is a scoping report setting the context for a Sustainability Appraisal, with many virtuous aims about improving public transport and reducing pollution, and a lot of useful statistics about the borough.  The third concludes that Spelthorne is part of a Functional Economic Area including Runnymede, Elmbridge, Hounslow and Hillingdon.

Consultation has ended but the documents may be seen on SBC website.
