There is a Government consultation on extending the pay-as-you-go rail travel (Oystercard, contactless etc.) into Spelthorne and rationalising the fare structure. This could bring significant benefits by making travel easier. Spelthorne BC & other groups have been pushing for an extension of the Oystercard / Zone 6 into Spelthorne so it’s good news that the Government are considering these proposals. The consultation can be found at:

https://www.gov.uk/gove…/consultations/pay-as-you-go-on-rail

Have your say – we encourage everyone to participate but if you’d rather send to send a quick comment by email instead (don’t forget to mention Oyster cards & the fact that Spelthorne should be in Zone 6) as the questionnaire is quite long (30+ questions), you can send it (but please include your name & full postal address) to the Department for Transport at: railpayasyougo@dft.gov.uk
Deadline 1 May 2019.
