Appeal response – Burger Plus, 25 Church Street (re opening hours)
The original application to extend opening hours (to 3am) was refused by Spelthorne Borough Council, the applicant has since made an Appeal to the Secretary of State, against that decision.

The Staines Town Society remains strongly opposed to this application and would not wish to see it granted on Appeal. The statements made in our original letter of objection remain valid.
The operating and much earlier, closing hours of the other local businesses in this area, including bars and pubs surely should also apply to the takeaway food premises. The London Stone (formerly The Hobgoblin) public house has advertised as open until midnight, nearby Weatherspoon’s at the junction with Clarence Street, is advertised as open until midnight except for Friday & Saturday when it’s open until 1am and Tops Pizza is open until 1am. The Staines Town Society believes that with nearby residents, a blanket closing time of midnight during the week, with 1am permitted only on Friday & Saturday, would be more appropriate and acceptable for this area and urge you to refuse this request for a variation of condition 4 (hours of opening) of p/a 19/00042/FUL
