We objected to Heathrow Airport’s plans for expansion connected with the third runway, swallowing up large parts of Stanwell & Stanwell Moor for ancillary buildings.  Spelthorne BC have woken up to the threat to the borough: their support for the third runway is now conditional on a list of requirements including a night flight ban, no increases in noise or pollution, and no disturbance of Staines Moor.  However we understand that the new Spelthorne BC chief executive is in favour of a new light rail link to Heathrow – not across the Moor, we hope.
