Civic Voice yesterday appeared on BBC Breakfast news and called for more individuals to play an active part in their local area. Chair of Civic Voice, Dr Freddie Gick, said; “Civic Voice has done a lot of work in training people on local heritage and the community rights agenda. I believe that people should not just visit historic properties, but it is even more important that they become actively involved in shaping their local community by volunteering. This can be achieved by working with one of 500 civic societies across England, by embracing the powers within the Localism Act or by volunteering at an English Heritage site. My message would be, use your voice, change your community and volunteer in your local area.”
