The Council is preparing, and consulting on, various documents which form part of the evidence base for the new Local Plan. STS has responded on the Strategic Housing Market Assessment, pointing out that the 750 house extensions currently being approved each year must be contributing to housing for the increased population, which should reduce the number of new houses required.
We have also responded to the Strategic Land Availability Assessment, saying that developers should not be members of the proposed Development Market Panel, which will decide which land should be built on, as they have a conflict of interest.
