An application has been submitted to SBC for a large house on the small & narrow site at the corner of the horse field (Green Belt land) at Wheatsheaf Lane & Penton Road, behind the Penton Avenue corner store/post office. The site currently has a garage & shed, which has been used for storage since 1998.

If you live in the Wheatsheaf Lane, Penton Avenue, Penton Road area please take a look at the site and the plans, there is a very useful notice at the gate to assist you with making an objection to Spelthorne Borough Council. The site is Green Belt land and the proposals represent an erosion of a valued open space in the heart of the main residential area of Staines.

The Town Society will be making an objection to loss of green belt but also to the size, and scale of the proposed house, which would be much too large for the site, seriously impinging on the houses at that end of Penton Avenue.

Our formal objection will follow. Deadline 15 August 2018 but if you’re going away please take a few minutes to have a look & make your comments before the deadline.
